Viennese collective CryptoWiener foregrounds the social in their work, bridging physical and digital realities in their representations of living people as pixel art, immortalising iconic moments from the development of the blockchain in Proof of History, and hosting live virtual art meetings and performances in the metaverse. This convergence can also be seen in MetaJump 2.0, which offers a live view of their virtual exhibition space in the physical exhibition and also allows for the reverse view. Visitors find themselves in a portal that connects the physical PIXELS by CryptoWiener solo exhibition at Offenes Kulturhaus Linz and the DYOR exhibition at Kunsthalle Zürich.

CryptoWiener is an artist collective formed in 2018 which uses blockchain technology to immortalise Austrian and especially Viennese culture in their hand-pixelated portraits. Since 2020 their creative output grew from the first original CryptoWiener collection to PixelRebels, CryptoPersonalities, Proof of History and their latest collection geVIENNAratives which is featured on Artblocks.io. The metaverse in Little Vienna is their home and base for the real-life exhibition PIXELS by CryptoWiener which is currently displayed at the Offenes Kulturhaus (OK) in Linz, combining the real world with the virtual world of Voxels.
